helping the homeless

The Homeless in Jacksonville Florida

The good news is the homeless rate has decreased by more than 9% from 2018 to 2019. New data from Changing Homelessness shows that in 2018 in Duval County, there were 1,640 homeless persons. In 2019 that number decreased to 1,494. We are doing our part to help the homeless in our community.

Hygiene Items and Food Packages Throughout the Year

We reach out to the homeless on a regular basis to supply them with much need hygiene items and food packages.  We are always accepting donations for these items.

On The Streets in the Winter

Supplying the homeless with items such as book bags, blankets, hats, gloves, socks, food, water, and hygiene items during the winter months is something we take pride in.

kids in care

Foster Care in Florida

According to the most recent federal data, there are currently more than 400,000 children in foster care in the United States. They range in age from infants to 21 years old (in some states). The average age of a child in foster care is more than 8 years old, and there are slightly more boys than girls. As of November 2019 there were 23,251 children in foster care system in the State of Florida alone.

Teddy Bears for Kids in Care

Teddy bears benefit children in their development because they can reduce anxiety and stress in children. Part of the reason why teddy bears provide comfort for children is because these transitional objects give children a sense of protection and security. We donate teddy bears many times throughout the year to the kids in care and are always accepting donations.

We are accepting toy donations all year round.  At Christmas time all donations are given to the children in care so they have gifts to open while they are separated from their families.

our youth

Go Barracudas!

It is important for our youth to stay involved in positive activities throughout our community.  We sponsored these young athletes who excelled and made the all star team.

Jacksonville Beach Barracuda All-Star Team

The Jacksonville Beach Barracudas  were involved in four tournaments: Fort Caroline, Julington Creek, Orange Park, and Bennett Park.  They won their bracket and competed in the State Tournament in West Palm Beach!  Way to go boys!!!!
